As a prominent church at a highly visible location and with bells ringing, St Paul’s regularly gets visitors. Some of them are in the country just briefly, others live here and may be looking for a church. Overall, I think that regular parishioners are quite welcoming towards those visitors. One of the ways of doing that is talking to them after the church service. Not only does that make visitors feel welcome, we ourselves get to meet really interesting people.
Sometimes newcomers want to know what’s on at St Paul’s. We do have a leaflet that lists some of the activities and our newsletter always gives up-to-date information. For those people looking for more information, we now have a handy form on the sidesperson table at the back of the Church. This form allows anybody to put down their details, if they want more information on Bible Studies or Home Groups, for example. The office will then relay that information to the appropriate bible study leader or the Vicar.

In the past, when somebody wanted to get on the parish roll, the directory or newsletter email list, we often hunted for some paper to note down the details. Now the form can be used for that. It is also a useful way to update your details if any of those have changed in any way.
Once you have filled in the form, just put it in the donations box, or you can put it in the slot of the parish office. Ruth will take the appropriate action.
At St Paul’s we take private data protection seriously. Therefore, we will only use any information you provide as you have indicated. If you do not want all information listed in the Parish Directory, please indicate that on the form.
Some people may be looking for prayer. On most Sundays someone will be near the font, who is available to pray immediately with people. Please make use of that opportunity as you feel the need and also point others to it. Graham Button also coordinates the St Paul’s Prayer Chain. Any concerns are sent by email to members of the prayer chain, who then pray for the particular situation. Your prayer requests can be as specific or general as you wish.
