Helping People to Meet God • Make Friends • Grow in Faith

Looking back and looking forward

The Parish Annual General Meeting is planned for 28 April 2024. We fall under the Charities Regulations, as well as Church Statutes. Therefore, such an AGM has to satisfy a whole host of requirements. We will review the past year and also consider a motion on the property. If you want to bring any other motion, please provide this to me well before the meeting, so that it can be circulated. It is best for these motions to be considered beforehand. I can rule out any motions brought on the day, as the congregation has not had time to consider these. I encourage you to read the reports, which will be circulated before the meeting.

We will also have to elect several positions, in particular Vestry members (2–7), Treasurer, People’s Warden and Synod Representatives (2). We can also elect a Parish Synod Youth Representative. Synod representatives will be elected for three years, the other positions for one year. I also encourage you to consider roles which the new vestry will have to appoint at its first meeting: nominators, safeguarding officer, social justice representative, mission motivator, health and safety champion, and environmental champion.

We also look forward to the remainder of this year. Here’s a list of current planned special services that are still coming up this year:

5 May 2024 — Harvest Festival

19 May 2024 — Evening Ecumenical Pentecost Service, NorthCity

9 June 2024 — LOOP Service with Papanui Baptist Church at St Paul’s

4 August 2024 — Hymn Service

8 September 2024 — Spring Service

13 October 2024 — Pet Blessing Service
